TV Wedding vs TV Wedding

Hello Everyone,

There are so many to choose from, so here is a selection of a few (there are loads) and to mix it up they are going up against each other. So this is how I am going to score them, the Wedding Dress a score out of 10, the marriage not ending in divorce 1, the marriage lasting way into Ever After a 2 and 3 points for something dramatic happening which either ruined or interrupted the wedding day!

So in alphabetical order let's begin:-

Charmed

Written by Constance M. Burge, produced by Aaron Spelling about the Halliwell sister that ran from 1998 until 2006, aired on Sky Living. Only three of the four sisters were married, because quite frankly Prue (Shannen Doherty) was annoying the best thing they did was write her out and bring in the missing sister Pagie Matthews (Rose McGowen).

Piper Halliwell and Leo.

Played by Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause.

Bless these two characters, it was always a difficult relationship with the Elders and a desire for a normal life constantly ruining their marital bliss. Their wedding appears Season Three, Episode Fifteen "Just Hitched".

Wedding Dress:- 6/10,
a very typical 2001 wedding dress, nothing overly amazing but this episode wasn't about the dress!

Marriage:- 1,
they actually split up because of Leo becoming an Elder for a time but then they let him be with her, forever and have magical babies.

Wedding Day:- 3,
True to form Prue ruins the day by getting possessed by a demon!

Total.....10/15

Phoebe Halliwell and Cole Turner

Played by Alyssa Milano and Julian McMahon.

Phoebe actually appears in a lot of wedding dresses during the course of this programme, but mostly due to Demons, Ghosts or spells gone wrong! This being her first marriage, which unknown to her future husband being Belthazar the future Source, aka King of the Evil Underworld but she apparently isn't that smart. Season Four, Episode Fifteen "Marry-Go-Round".

Wedding Dress:- 3/10,
the worse wedding dress out there, Phoebe's fashion is out there but this does nothing for the model of Ariel!

Marriage:- 0,
he is the Source of Evil! He makes her his Queen, gets her pregnant with the ultimate evil being, then she kills him only for him to return and stalk her until she turns into a mermaid and says she'll always love him but they can't be together and wants a divorce! Gah

Wedding Day:- 3,
Prue doesn't ruin this one, because she's dead. But Cole get possessed, ruins the day they fight a demon, she wakes up thinking Paige is the one ruining it and then Phoebe gets married at a cemetery dream day right?

Total.....6/15

Phoebe Halliwell and Coop

Played by Alyssa Milano (again) and Victor Webster.

She marrieds a Cupid, sent to her by the Elders for her to believe in love again after surviving the darkest love that can exist. Season Eight, Episode Twenty Two "Forever Charmed".

Wedding Dress:- 7/10,
more like it Phoebe.

Marriage:- 2,
they live happily ever after.

Wedding Day:- 3,
Prue doesn't ruin this one either, because she's dead. It's the last episode drama everywhere.

Total.....12/15

Paige Matthews and Henry Mitchell

Played by Rose McGowan and Ivan Sergel

The only sister to have a normal relationship way to go Paige!. Season Eight, Episode Sixteen "Engaged and Confused" aired 26th February 2006.

Wedding Dress:- 9/10,
this dress is beautiful for her, it suits her so much.

Marriage:- 2,
still going strong in the book world.

Wedding Day:- 3,
Prue doesn't ruin this one either, because she's dead. It's Charmed, a lot went down.

Total.....14/15

The best wedding in Charmed is.....
Paige and Henry!

Desperate Housewives

Created by Marc Cherry about an American Town called Wisteria Lane, a street in which everything that could happen, happened! It ran from 2004 until 2012, on Channel 4.

Bree van de Kamp and Orson Hodge.

Played by Marica Cross and Kyle Machachlan.

They get married after a six month relationship, but did he kill his first wife dum dum dummmmm. Season Three, Episode Two "It Takes Two".

Wedding Dress:- 8/10,
not to be ageist, but for a cast that were at the time in their mid 40's she looks lovely and expensive as only Bree can be.

Marriage:- 0,
they get divorce, get back together the divorce- she has an affair, it got messy.

Wedding Day:- 3,
during the reception the police arrive and ask Orson to identify a body, is it his dead wife? Shock, Horror!

Total.....11/15

Susan Mayer and Mike Delfino.

Played by Teri Hatcher and James Denton.

We watched this blooming relationship from the start, we felt their heartbreak when Mike left Susan and son MJ (Mason Vale) but we keep hoping until the end. Their first wedding that I'm scoring appeared Season Three, Episode Twenty Two "Getting Married Today".They have a second wedding after learning who Mike's bride is on Season Six, Episode One "Nice is Different Than Good".

Wedding Dress:- 9/10,
perfect dress for Teri's body and matches the theme her character is going with.

Marriage:- 1,
I want to so badly give them a two, but they broke up and divorced for two season, they both moved on for a while. But sadly he dies in the last season.

Wedding Day:- 2,
it was a surprise wedding.

Total.....12/15

Renee Perry and Ben Faulkner

Played by Vanessa Williams and Charles Mesure.

To be honest I don't remember much about them, as I never really cared for this character. I think they married for money? Season Eight, Episode Twenty Three "Finishing the Hat".

Wedding Dress:- 3/10,
beautiful dress but what the hell is that on her head? Every point for the dress has gone for that thing.

Marriage:- 1,
I think they are still together, not sure they never said.

Wedding Day:- 3,
Julie Mayers water breaks ruining her original wedding dress, which led to this one and Renee is a pretty selfish character, I think they got arrested.

Total.....7/15

The best wedding in Desperate Housewives is.....
Susan and Mike!

Downton Abbey

British drama created by Juilan Fellowes, who does not know about this programme? It first aired in 2010 with Season Five coming any day, airing on ITV.

Lady Edith Crawley and Sir Anthony Strallan.

Played by Laura Carminchael and Robert Bathurst.

These two were so cute, he was the much older man, which caused problems for the family but we believed in them. Season Three, Episode Three.

Wedding Dress:- 7/10,
her dress is of the time completely, and look at the detail on side showing her personality.

Marriage:- 0,
technically never got married.

Wedding Day:- 3,
he left her at the alter!!!!!!!! He Left Her! To Quote Tyra Banks " I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you!". The bastard.

Total.....10/15

Lady Mary Crawley and Matthew Crawley

Played by Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens.

It took two seasons for this to happen and two Christmas Specials. Through their marriage she secured the future of Downton and the families but this was a love match. Their marriage appears before Edith's (poor Edith, didn't even get her own Season) Season Three, Episode One.

Wedding Dress:- 5/10,
suits her, but nothing very special.

Marriage:- 1,
It would have been a beautiful and long marriage, but Dan Stevens wanted to go to Hollywood, so he died (his character). How's that move going for you Dan?

Wedding Day:- 3,
money problems ruled the day.

Total.....8/15

The best wedding in Downton Abbey is.....
Edith and Anthony (did I call him a bastard?)!

Friends

Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which was a huge sitcom from 1994 until 2004, airing on Channel 4.Were all still waiting for the Movie!

Rachel Green and Ross Geller.

Played by Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer.

Will they, won't they will the, "We were on a break", won't they, "I got off the plane". During the entire ten season we watched this relationship, which resulted in a baby and a few other drama's! While were all waiting for their real wedding, which I imagine would be uber chic and in a museum, well they got married in, Season Five, Episode Twenty Four, "The One in Vegas Part 2".

Wedding Dress:- 0/10,
they got married in Vegas, DRUNK! No wedding dress!

Marriage:- 0,
annulled.

Wedding Day:- 3,
they married in VEGAS! DRUNK!.

Total.....3/15

Emily Waltham and Ross Geller.

Played by Emily Baxendale and David Schwimmer.

After a whirlwind relationship they get married in London. With a wonderful cameo of many British actors, my favorite Jennifer Saunder, but this wedding was all set up to be romantic, but Rachel Green decides she needs to be there and leaves a heavily pregnant Phoebe. Season Four, Episode Twenty Three, "The One with Ross's Wedding Part 1".

Wedding Dress:- 5/10,
does nothing for her bust, other than looking like it is going to fall out, the cut makes her look like she is hiding something. Looked better on Monica.

Marriage:- 0,
Divorce.

Wedding Day:- 3,
full of drama, Ross says "I take thee Rachel", not Emily ek. Rachel reads into it, Emily does a runner and Ross's best friend has sex with his sister.

Total.....8/15

Monica Geller and Chandler Bing.

Played by Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry.

Monica is a bride after my own heart, she can plan my wedding and house any day.  After they hook up in London, we were all shocked that they turn out to be the perfect couple and I appreciate how they showed their struggle to have children, yet it made them stronger. Season Seven, Episode Twenty Three, "The One with Monica and Chandler's Wedding Part 1".

Wedding Dress:- 10/10,
it wasn't her dream dress, but its perfect.

Wedding Dress:- 10/10,
Princess Consuela Banana Hamack looks beautiful.

Marriage:- 2,
off into the sunset

Wedding Day:- 3,
heavy snow, will it get postponed? No it turns into a dream wedding.

Total.....15/15

The best wedding in Friends is.....
Monica and Chandler AND Phoebe and Mike!

Game of Thrones

Created by David Benioff and D.B Weiss, I don't know how to describe this programme, just watch it! First aired 2011 and still leading up to something big, on Sky Altantic.

Roslin Fey and Edmure Tully.

Played by Alexandra Dowling and Tobias Menzies.

Dubbed "The Red Wedding" a lot went down on this wedding day, due to Walder Fey! But this was an arranged marriage due to Rob Stark doing his own thing and frankly pissing Walder off, so like everything in GoT, nothing is straight forward. . Season Three, Episode Nine, "The Rains of Castamere".

Wedding Dress:- 5/10,
2 points for turning out to be a pretty bride and all the faces pulled when the veil was lifted and 3 points for the amazing crochet.

Marriage:-1,
I think they are still alive, somewhere?

Wedding Day:- 3,
It's an ambush, they all die in horrible ways!

Total.....9/15

Margarey Tyrell and King Joffrey Baratheon.

Played by Natalie Dormer and Jack Gleeson.

Dubbed "The Purple Wedding", well we waited a fair few episode's for this one, King Joffrey being a tyrant and bastard, it is the number one point bad things come from incest. We all know Margarey's family were planning the outcome. Season Four, Episode Two, "The Lion and the Rose".

Wedding Dress:- 8/10,
It is quite beautiful for the show and people are already replicating it.

Marriage:-0,
he dies at last! Hurrah.

Wedding Day:- 3,
he acts like a complete bastard to my favorite character Tyrion and quite frankly deserves to die!

Total.....11/15

Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister.

Played by Sophie Turner and Peter Dinklage.

Who doesn't like to be forced into a marriage right? I actually think Tyrion is a good husband, he protects her and doesn't even enforce sex until she is ready, doesn't even sleep in the same bed. Season Three, Episode Eight, "Second Sons".

Wedding Dress:- 9/10,
the detail, the fabric, the hair it's just so good, proof to demonstrate good costuming helps to make the character. Did we really expect her to wear a beautiful, perfect wedding dress or something that shows how trapped she feels? Poor Sansa!

Marriage:-1,
still married, she's on the run and he's fighting to not be killed.

Wedding Day:- 3,
forced marriage and Tyrion get's beyond wasted.

Total.....13/15

Princess Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo.

Played by Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa.

The first wedding of GoT, which we all felt sorry for poor Daenerys being forced into this marriage to a man she can't communicate with but it is a married I loved, they really loved each other, I was devastated when he died.. Season One, Episode One "Winter is Coming".

Wedding Dress:- 6/10,
and the winner for most sexualised wedding dress, he basically tears it off her. Copied a lot already.

Marriage:- 1,
i'm giving them a one, because yes he died but they loved each other so much, I got emotionally involved.

Wedding Day:- 3,
first episode, so? but basically her brother traded her for Khal's army.

Total.....10/15

The best wedding in Friends is.....

Blair Waldorf and Prince Louis Grimalidi.

Played by Leighton Meester and Hugo Becker.

So the Queen Bee met a Prince in Paris and became Her Serene Highness, Princess Blair of Monaco (like they'd allow this marriage), did I mention she's was pregnant too, before she lost the child it was a question was it Louis or Chuck's? A love triangle in which she is very much still in love with. Season Five, Episode Thirteen, "G.G".

Wedding Dress:- 7/10,
It's beautiful but it is not Blair at all, also all future/Royals get married with their shoulders covered, so pretty dress but they should have followed the rules.

Marriage:-0,
Prince Louis tell Blair during their first dance that they are in a loveless, contracted marriage.

Wedding Day:- 3,
what is gossip girl's first major character wedding, with no drama HA, Blair leaves to chase after Chuck.

Total.....10/15

Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass.

Played by Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick.

Well after six season, they realize they were meant to be! Season Six, Episode Ten, "New York, I Love You XOXO".

Wedding Dress:- 8/10,
more like it Blair, it's high fashion, high flair and suits their relationship.

Marriage:-2,
five years later still together and have a son Henry.

Wedding Day:- 3,
improvised wedding, then they get arrested and questioned just as Gossip Girl does a hit out.

Total.....13/15

Serena van der Woodsen and Dan Humphrey.

Played by Blake Lively and Penn Badgley.

What a final episode not only did Blair and Chuck get married but these two too! Who saw that coming? Well it also exposed that Lonely boy was Gossip Girl and yet Serena still marries him? Season Six, Episode Ten, "New York, I Love You XOXO".

Wedding Dress:- 5/10,
I really want to like it, but I really hate it.

Marriage:- 1,
I guess they are? Myself I doubt it.

Wedding Day:- 2,
I guess at it was the closer.

Total.....8/15

The best wedding in Friends is.....
Blair and Chuck!

How I Met Your Mother

Created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, airing from 2005 to 2014. All I'm saying is nine, I mean nine season to find out the mother? It did drag a little! But we got to see the lead characters to marry first. Airing on E4. (I might have watched this online so Spoilers.)

Lily Aldrin and Marshall Eriksen.

Played by Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segal.

Aww Marsh-mellow and Lily Pad, these two are perfect for each other, they met at college and keep the entire thing going by growing up! Season Two, Episode Twenty One, "Something Borrowed".

Wedding Dress:- 9/10,
so beautiful on her, timeless and classic.

Marriage:-1,
they split up for a brief moment, but they have 3 babies.

Wedding Day:- 3,
it's a sitcom, everything goes wrong but it is perfect in the end.

Total.....13/15

Robin Scherbatsky and Barney Stinson.

Played by Cobie Smudlers and Neil Patrick Harris.

Now I was not a fan of Season Nine, but the entire run-up was for their wedding day, I'm amazed they made it down the aisle altogether! Season Nine, Episode Twenty Two, "The End of the Aisle".

Wedding Dress:- 6/10,
I guess it's modern and edgy but it will age quickly like the weddings of the 80's. Nothing memorable..

Marriage:-0,
they divorce three years later.

Wedding Day:- 3,
the entire seasons shows the drama of this day.

Total.....9/15

Tracy McConnell and Ted Mosby.

Played by Cristen Milioti and Josh Radnor.

We wait nine season to see this and their relationship, it only lasted one episode! They really have should have shown more of their relationship but gah. I really hated season nine and the ending. Season Nine, Episode Twenty Four, "Last Forever Part 2".

Wedding Dress:- 2/10,
really nine years and this is their wedding. That is the dress she's wearing. Gah.

Marriage:- 0,
she dies, sorry but she does and it turns out Robin is his true love.

Wedding Day:- 2,
it's the last episode.

Total.....4/15

The best wedding in Friends is.....
Lily and Marshall!

This version is based on the original folk tale not the Disney film, in which Cinderella makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin, as he kills her Fairy Godmother, in order to be with Prince Thomas. But while this is happening in the Enchanted Forest,in Storybrooke it's getting dark.Season One, Episode Four, "The Price of Gold".

Wedding Dress:- 8/10,
as O.T.T as a fairy tale should be.

Marriage:-1,
a deal was done so they could be together and keep their daughter.

Wedding Day:- 3,
Rumpelstiltskin appears on the day to ruin by reminding Cinderella of her promise.

Total.....12/15

Queen of Hearts/ Cora Hills and Prince Henry.

Played by Rose McGowan and Zak Santiago.

Cora is the ultimate Queen of Evil, who becomes the Queen of Hearts. But she is only able to marry Prince Henry due to the fact she can spin straw into gold, wonder which fairy tale character helped there..Season Two, Episode Sixteen, "The Miller's Daughter".

Wedding Dress:- 9/10,
it is beautiful, I love the detail on the top of the dress, but I believe this is the start of a Gypsy dress, but for a fairy tale it works..

Marriage:-2,
poor long suffering Henry, they last but his daughter kills him as it's the thing she loves most.

Wedding Day:- 2,
she nearly ran off with Rumpelstiltskin, because they were having a thing but she chose to be Queen .

Total.....12/15

Snow White/ Mary Margaret Blanchard and Prince Charming/ David Nolan.

It's all about these two and considering I dislike the Disney cartoon of Snow White, I love these two so so much and it all begins with their wedding .Season One, Episode One, "Pilot".

Wedding Dress:- 8/10,
it's a fairy tale alright, but i'm not completely loving it.

  1. Interesting, can see where your influences come from. Surprised 'Sex in the City' weddings were missing, Robert and Amy's wedding in 'Everybody Loves Raymond' -who can forget the dance at the reception. Also Howard and Bernadette's wedding in 'The Big Bang Theory', so many to choose from and each unique in their own way.
