Hello Everyone,
Lucky all round not 1 but 2 blogs in one night! Maybe I feel inspired, maybe I've been told to blog, maybe it is just time to share?
So where have I been? What has been happening? Well I just did a update http://disneygirlgrowsup.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/update.html, but I now feel it is time to explain where I have been and basically why so quite!
After we got married, we decided it was time to make our family bigger, we have been very happy for the past 5 years being the 2 of us, but we have always talked about children and well after the wedding it seemed right.
As much as everyone told us we should enjoy the first year being married, get to know each other, it's been 5 years, nothing at this point is shocking to us! If anything we were planning on testing the "In sickness and in health"!
My personal history meant that I had been on the contraception pill since I was 15 years old, so I had been on it solidly for 10 years, never missing one and doing everything in my power to not get pregnant! So this was a big challenge and extremely scary.....because we don't even have a pet. I have proven in the past to my family I can keep a animal alive, but could we do it together? But what I will say and be honest about, we did a lot of running before we were walking. We spent a lot of time talking about the baby, how we're going to raise it, names, future holidays but there was a small problem no baby!
I stupidly thought getting pregnant couldn't be that hard, because lets face it on TV, you see people getting pregnant all the time and think well it can't be that hard!! How hard can it be really????
REALLY HARD!!!
My first point of call was the download an app Pink Pad on my phone, which said when I was due on and when I was ovulating. When I first downloaded it I got very excited, within the week I would be ovulating, and we were dreaming how wonderful to announce to everyone after Christmas we were pregnant! HA! Did you know that the pill messes up your ovulation? Basically instead of having a real period, you have a fake one that is not the full length of time you have and you generally have it when your not due to ovulate. It takes nearly 3 months for this to balance out and your periods to become normal! And on top of that you might be in bloom for the week but really it's a 2 day window!
Well by month 5 I was becoming angry, frustrated, annoyed and well to be honest again (there will be a lot of honesty in the next coming blogs) it becomes a system. Messages of today is the peak, we must conceive today, if not its another month! All around I was being told was so and so is pregnant, celebrities left, right and centre were pregnant AND I WAS NOT!
Month 6 came floating round and I was pretty unpleasant to be around, it's all I could think about...then the demon, mean thoughts what if there is a problem?! I even told my husband I hope if there is it's with him! Yeah that much of a bitch! Mother's Day was coming up and well to be honest I wasn't feeling it, all those mother's rubbing in how wonderful and fertile they were! On top of feeling like a bitch, I was not actually sleeping, in fact I had not slept properly for almost 2 weeks, I was so tired I sat in bed thinking about how tired I was. During my mum's Mother's Day meal, my brother blurted out was I pregnant? Typical bloke not drinking means your up the duff, but I was driving on the motorway after and was being sensible, but I did leave most of my meal and left thinking....was I? I was in fact due on my period on the Monday and after being bullied by my best friend I went out to get a test. Once did my most pathetic wee I could on the stick, I rang her shouting just one bloody line...I'm not pregnant, while she was trying to console me, that maybe too early, maybe try again tomorrow, something amazing happened I started to sob! A SECOND LINE!!!!!!!!
We both sat on the phone crying our eyes out, I was pregnant, she was pregnant it was all amazing. I went out afterwards to buy a Clear Blue test to be sure my 99p test wasn't lying and there it was 2 tests saying I was. Off the Doctors I went that afternoon, given my 11 no go foods paper work and with an appointment for my Midwife to visit.
So where have I been since March, well having a pretty strong and intense relationship with the toilet or Sick bucket!
If I wasn't being sick, I was feeling sick for 2 months solid! But more to come on that, with the trip to America!
But I can safely say at 23 weeks a baby is on it's way for November!
I have gone through many ups and downs with this pregnancy and hey that's a blog on it's own! But I will say this at 23 weeks, I still expect something to go wrong, I'm still in stock I have not miscarried, but this Disney Girl is Growing Up quickly as my parents would say!
See you soon to talk more about pregnancy!
Bye x x x

We Got Married Part Two
Hello My Lovlies
I'm so sorry for taking so long to blog, but you know how life and Christmas gets in the way of anything you enjoy and computers breaking!!!!
So we have now nearly been married for 6 months, and I have so many high moments from the day but like everything there are a few low moments, that I sooooo badly want to not think about but it because something that eclipse's the day, is hard. I know I should only think of the positive and forget the bad stuff but I think sometimes it's a human trait to hold onto these things, maybe when you read my lows you will maybe understand or think LET IT GO!
And I will let you all know now that the Disney song "Let It Go" became a theme for our wedding!
So what I will do first is break down where and what we had on the wedding day, talk about the highs, the lows, then I will treat you all with a few pictures.
Hair Vanity Fayre Stoke-on-Trent
I had my hairdresser trail for my Bridal Shower, so I had an idea if I liked it or not and got the opinions of the people who are close to me. For the hairdressers my mum and I were there at what felt like the crack of dawn, 7:30 am to begin the hair challenge, by the time the bridesmaid appeared my mum had her hair in curlers and I had so much back combing going on I looked like Amy Winehouse. With the arrival of the bridesmaids and my dad came breakfast, yes I had another healthy McDonald's breakfast, this morning was sponsored by pancakes. I found the whole hairdressers bit the most relaxing moment of the morning, I had to be dragged out by my dad as all of a sudden it went from 8:00 to 9:30 and I needed to get moving!
Beauty
I go to a wonderful small saloon near where I live and without Kim I don't know what I would have done! On the run up she just let me go a lie down on her heated bed. So peaceful. But for my make-up I wore a combination of Bare Minerals and Urban Decay. I am ashamed to say I spent over £150 on beauty items. The think what I will say and everyone will, is look after your skin in the months of the run up. Buy a good cleanser and moisturizer! Look after your skin, cut the caffeine and alcohol down! Most important stay out of the sun, it will age you and make your skin dry, if you feel the need of a tan, use fake. You want to be blemish, scaly skin free on the day!
Dress Fairytale by Sherry http://www.fairytalesbysherry.com/
Buying/choosing my dress was a nightmare for me! I tired so many dresses on, I wanted to be open minded but I will admit the variety of shops I went in, I had some interesting service. In a really expensive shop, she did a bad job selling her gowns, the sales rep was doing a better job, but when I found a dress I liked (other than it being £5,000) it was called Chelsea, she seemed really confused on why I did not want to wear a dress at our wedding with the same name as the Hubby's crazy ex-girlfriend (who is the face of a British sexual toy shop). Renaming the dress would not have changed the fact I thought it was a bad omen! But she did not understand and became very pushy! One shop the owner was determined to getting my curvy size 12 body and hips into a size 10 Fishtail dress. I did eventually fall in love with 2 dresses, 1 from Shakespeare in Love, Stratford-upon-Avon, the owner called the dresses she and her, she was so passionate and it was very different for me. But the one for me was Fairytale by Sherry, Newcastle-under-Lme, I just did not want to take it off, it made my mum cry every time she saw it.
I will admit by 11am on the wedding day I was still not dressed and might have had a small melt down!
Bridesmaid Dresses Coast
I did buy 2 dresses a while ago, but during that time one bridesmaid had a baby the other a stomach operation, when I rang the shop the woman was beyond unhelpful, she wouldn't do a fitting until the week before the wedding and other brides were more important than me! Thank You! So 5 days before the wedding we were in Liverpool buying dresses, the help I go in Coast was amazing!
Suits Richard Pauls http://www.richardpaulhire.co.uk/
We got them from Richard Pauls, Stratford-upon-Avon. These guys were so good, they did the suit fittings for when ever the Grooms/Bridal party could make it, unlike some places that wanted everyone together at one time, which feels unbelievably impossible. We did have some real problems with our best man and they did all the chasing up for us, which was so helpful! They completely understood the wedding was 70miles away from where we were living, highly recommend.
Church Trentham Parish Church
We got married at 12pm at Trentham Parish Church, on the run up to the wedding we had 3 different vicars but number 3 was the best. Reverend Sarah Morris was amazing, she was kind enough to hear all about the stress we had on the run-up, the frustration I felt with the original vicar and my Mother in Law. When I arrived at the church I was oblivious to what was happening, Mike was a sobbing wreck because of the cars. My page boy was crying his eyes out, as it was all too much for him his mum looked different and he didn't even recognize me. We had 3 hymns, 3 readings, in which my bridesmaid made all of us cry. Mike was a crying wreck, my dad was so nervous he was holding my hand so tight, it was sweaty/uncomfortable and there I was as emotional as a stone and all I could think was WTF is going on with these 2! Out side the church, so much confetti was used that 4 months later I was still finding it all over the house.
Cars Now and Forever Cars http://www.nowandforever.uk.com/
The cars are the biggest regret we have, for what we got out of them, we could have booked a taxi or a car. We booked with the old owner, the new owners are completely unprofessional and I would never EVER recommend them! EVER! NEVER EVER! We paid for a Beauford and Daimler, when contacting them a few months before the wedding the information on pick ups was wrong, even when we corrected it, on the day of the wedding the drivers had been given the wrong information! Great start for things to get worse. Mikes car got stuck in traffic and the driver had no idea where he was going, mike was directing him from the back. When he showed up at the church the 2nd car was already there, luckily with the Bridesmaids in and Mike just lost it! HE arrived late, was rushed inside and in a complete state. After the service we were taken on the motorway on the worst junction on the M6 and I would like top applaud the drivers for not only telling us on arrival they have to rush off but for being in every single photo of us with the cars. My favorite is the series of us walking up stairs and them rushing to put the roof on, which they removed for 10 minutes! When we complained we were informed everything was our fault! They were not responsible for anything! Well that was worth £800.00!
Reception Crewe Hall http://www.qhotels.co.uk/our-locations/crewe-hall/
I had a lot of ups and downs with Crewe Hall, the week before the wedding the 5th wedding coordinator left without informing us, they were very good to us, plenty of extras, free upgrades for us and our guests, but then again during the whole time I only make 1 serious complaint. It was a wonderful venue, they have amazing staff, good food and a lovely hotel! Our Champagne Reception started at 2:30, we sat down for food at 4pm, then before we knew it the evening party had started. From what we hear, everyone had a good time. The venue was dressed by Elegant Affair and our cake was made by a family friend.
Flowers The Topiary Tree http://thetopiarytreeflorist.co.uk/
We're made by a family friend and complete genius called Rose and her team. I'm not an expert with flowers, she is, so I told her the color theme and let her do what she does best. And she did an amazing job!
DJ
Can't fault him, he did his job well no complaints.
Photographer Front Row Films http://frontrowfilmshq.co.uk/
The best man with a lens. James Reader, I treasure our photos, they are beyond beautiful, some in the moment, so artsy, some candid. He does amazing work, don't you all agree?
Highs
- Marrying Mike! I loved our service, it felt so personal
- Having a good time with my family and friends
- At the church seeing my page boy giggle when playing with his mum flowers and seeing my cousins son in his suit.
- Feeling extremely beautiful
- That it all came together and looked great!
Lows
- The Cars!
- Having an emotional break down in Liverpool city centre 5 days before the wedding
- My Mother in Law ignoring me all day and insulting the wedding ever since.
- Some people getting a bit drunk and causing a few problems
- Coming home and the roof leaking all over the kitchen and computer!

We Got Married Part One
Hello Everyone,
Well I'm sorry for the lack of blogs, I wanted to do more but to be honest I found the run up extremely stressful.
So what I will do instead is talk a little bit about the week of, the and day after in two parts. I will talk about the emotions and the companies we used.
Week of the Wedding.
What I will say about this is prepare to spend your entire pay package, I did not expect the things I was having done to be so expensive, but for me it was somewhat worth it. So here was the week, starting with the horrific Saturday!
Saturday:-
Two weeks before the wedding it was decided that the Bridesmaid dress would not fit and cost far too much to alter buying new was the only way forward! I argued against going to Liverpool on the Saturday as the day of shopping was planned on the Sunday. I wish I listened to my gut as I was fine, not panicked but that was until I was in the Principles section of Debenhams, there I dropped my first tear. It was when I reached the personal shopper section I had a complete emotional melt down. The week before I had met a new Vicar and my wedding Coordinator had left, my Nan had been ill in hospital, it was all too much. I officially reached a new low! Followed by six assistants/managers running too my aid. I had cried all my make-up off and was was offered wine. I just simply did not want to do anymore, everything had gone wrong, was the wedding doomed? To make myself better I got a free make over from Bare Minerals and ended up buying powder and mascara. Back home we headed, with a Burger King for my tea.
Sunday:-
On Sunday I was not feeling it at all! I just thought you two better like something and yay they did.; I got a chance to unwind over a Cafe Nero Milkshake Frappe and also met my best friends baby. I went back to my parents home a bit calmer, but sick! My mum had passed on her cold!
Monday:-
Monday, a.k.a Winge Day. Oh how my throat hurt! Of course I was getting ill, great a nice £10.00 spent at the pharmacy to stop this cold. I went to the wedding meeting with guns blazing, seriously another Wedding Coordinator left without informing me! Well at Crewe Hall, the lovely Clare might as well planned the whole thing! After the fifth Coordinator she stepped in every time and I met the manager of the event Nils, who was not going to have any shit, perfect! What I will say as a tip venues like organised Brides and treat you with more respect. We were treated with a free upgrade, which we were grateful for we needed the two rooms! Lots of gifts and cards. And Nils was not going to take anything from the Mother-in-Law, which is what we needed, some one who could say no!
Wednesday:-
Rehearsal day. Before we left I spent a few hours at Kim's Little Beauty Room being pampered by the wonderful Kim. I left looking all pretty, nice an relaxed from her heat spa bed, just a top up of make-up was needed to hide the red from my eyebrows being waxed. Off to Trentham Parish Church, a few weeks before I was told the Vicar could not do it, but a new Vicar was being sorted! The new Vicar Sarah Morris was fantastic! She really wanted to do our wedding, now the rehearsal was fun, I got the giggles and Mike took it too seriously, so the more I giggled, the more serious he became. Then the worse thing that could happen, I was upset, Mike was gobsmacked, my parents faces read WTF, the Vicar was furious. Yes my Mother-in-Law opened her mouth to make a dig at my Father-in-Law and called Mike's Step Mum a pretend parent. We hadn't even walked down the aisle and finished our practice run, for the Vicar to threaten "....if she says anything like that on Friday, I will be telling her to leave!" That evening I drank 6 Cosmopolitans at Frankie and Bennie's.
Thursday:-
The day before the wedding was a mad rush blur! We went to drop everything off at Crewe Hall, which resulted in a hash brown and hot chocolate at McDonalds. We met mike, went to meet Dad at Trentham Gardens for a small walk and breather, Mike was alone at Crewe non of the Grooms party were joining until much later. Another pamper section, which I had a poor pedicure, a second healthy meal at Costa. A quick wash and blow-dry which the hair dresser highly recommends. Dropped the cars off at Crewe Hall before a large glass of wine at the Harvester, followed by healthy meal number 3! I made the best decision and I recommend to others, I had no one stay at my parents. Just me and them, we watched Great British Bake Off and a cheesy DVD, I feel asleep on the sofa at 10pm. I slept right threw until 5:30am, I felt well rested.
So here are my top highs and lows.
Lows
- Emotional break down on a busy Saturday afternoon in Liverpool Debenhams - mortified
- Mother-in-Law in Church - disgusting
- Spending £250.00 on my vanity - ashamed
- Getting a cold before the wedding - YAY
- Week of the wedding loosing another Coordinator - Bloody Great.
Highs
- I can truly say I am very well organised - CV, Check
- Spending some good quality time with my mum - YAY
- Being there for my husband when his grooms party let him down and letting him do it all alone - Love him
- Not having or needing my crutches or leg braces week of the wedding - determined
- Being so calm night of the wedding and sleeping well - Success
So I will now write up the day of the wedding.
Lots of Love

10 Things I've Discovered Planing A Wedding with 6 Weeks To Go
Hello Everyone,
Well as of today it is 6 weeks, 2 days, 19 hours until our wedding, (this count down is sponsored bu the Wedding Countdown app, which is free on Play Store, if you would like to remind people when they say "the wedding is ages away"!) Well I thought I would have a look back at what I thought I had learnt and give you an updated top 10. I did this blog first 13 months to the wedding with a reviewed version at the 6 month stage. I'm not going to re-write them, instead link is below, you can have a read and I'll just summarize
http://disneygirlgrowsup.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/10-things-ive-discovered-planning.html
1:- It's Your Day! LIES! BIG FAT LIES!
Well that situation has still not improved, but more of our friends are coming, I feel the frustrations in my voice 6 months ago and that is nothing!
2:- Everyone Has An Opinion
I just walk out the room now.
3:- Family Involvement!
Everyone still keeps on, about this or that, no one wants you to be stressed out but you will!
4:- The Tears and Arguments!
I will talk more about this in the new list!
5:- Being Emotional Crushed!
I have moments of wondering if I still care?
6:- Making It Yourself!
HAHAHAHAHAHA, it will be worth it right?
7:- Your Family Must Secretly Hate You!
Still believe this! Except it now includes your friends and businesses too! Love you all dearly.
8:- Everyone Has An Uncle K**b Head or 5!
So many people have recently earned this title! We have people coming we never intended on inviting, we have one uncle refusing to tell us who his plus 1 is, another wanting to give a speech and a possible bans on 1 Direction and other horrific music.
9:- Diet! HA!
Well this plan hasn't happened! Can't work out currently.
10:- On The Verge!
Waved the verge goodbye 2 weeks ago! Can't see it anymore!
So onto my new list. I will openly admit that this is not a happy/positive list, anyone who is extremely happy at this point are somewhat fooling themselves! So here we go......
1:- Bye, Bye Money
I bet you did not think of all those little details and extras did you? Well neither did we, now I just hand over my card no longer caring, for example I bet you did not think you wanted to upgrade your red wine, well that was before you tried the Merlot, goodbye £41.00 for an upgrade. Oh I've rand out of Lustre card bye, bye £20.24 and so it goes.
2:- Time To Start Looking After Yourself!
I will blog a bit more about this, but this also follows in the Bye, Bye Money theme. Because you want to look your best, i'm spending more money on this. But my number one suggest is do not hurt yourself before the wedding! I mentioned in a previous blog I have damaged my knee, nice bit of soft tissues damage there, plus needing physiotherapy until next year. Please look after yourself.
3:- It's Hard To Be Understanding.
We've had a lot of problems getting people to respond to our invites in the first place but had quiet a few people change their minds recently and i'm going to be brutally honest for all Brides out there and drop the bombshell! First off my response to people not responding to RSVP's, if we've had to chase a response off you for you to say your not coming, but tell us your upset, i'm sorry for it being about your emotions! I want to be honest and say whatever your response you will sound sarcastic. Simple by saying "Thank you for letting me know", well no you didn't, I had to chase you! And trust me, hurts us more than you, it's our wedding your not attending. My advice is think carefully about your response, but if your the person not able to attend give a good reason (lack of reason is the worst) if you want sympathy, if not it's just a hallow reason which is difficult to respond too.
And i'm going to put it out there, changing your mind 8 weeks before the wedding is well impolite and discourteous! No matter what it is, it is hard to be understanding with so much money, emotion and organisation involved. But it's better to say something nice which isn't genuine than being rude in return.
4:- God Help Yourself If You Do Get Hurt!
I've officially been stuck in the house for 6 weeks! Which means I've done nothing but wedding arrangements and hospital appointments. I'm too far away from family and friends to expect any visits, so I have nothing to discuss other than the wedding and my knee. And if I am honest I am suffering from being low, today is one of those days, where all I want to do is cry. Planing a wedding you need a good distraction, like work, being able get out, socializing!
5:- Frosty Relationships
Everyone is stressed, or your at the point of not wanting to listen to their opinions means you feel like everyone dislikes you! The past few days, I've found myself not wanting to talk to anyone as either they're not listening or I do not want too!
6:- Herding Cats!
You'd think it would be easier getting everyone together being so close to the wedding, but nope! How dare people have a life outside of this wedding! I have recently found not only do I but Mike has also been doing the hand smacking thing.
7:- The Harsh Reality!
Everyone is looking forward to a good party but they are not really that bothered! The relations with close family and friends are already tested and on a fine line. It could be due to be me feeling down, but the reality is I'm looking forward to the wedding being over and just being married. I find it very hard to feel excited, I'm either feeling frustrated or stressed. Have I had a wedding break down?
8:- Battles Aren't Over!
They are just getting more intense and you feel pretty done!
9:- I've Ordered What?
Does Wedding Brain exist? Like pregnancy brain? I'm forgetting some of the things I have ordered and paid for! Nice surprise on the wedding day!
10:- I've Become The To Do List Queen!
I love a good to do list. I do a new one every week! Everyone is getting a to do list!
So what do you think? I wanted to be brutally honest with you as I could be! What problems you had? Agree or disagree?
XxXxXx

Top 10 Disney Weddings!
Hi Everyone
I thought I would treat you
to another Top 10! And I also remembered I have Disney font. So to make it even
more Disneyfied, here we go.
10:- 101 Dalmatians, 1961,
Walt Disney Productions
This joint wedding made it very clear that the moment wasn’t
about Anita and Roger, but their Dalmatian dogs Perdita and Pongo. In the
original version we know Roger is a song writer and Anita’s career is unknown,
which makes their wedding beautiful and simple for a film based in 1950’s. But
we do get to see an amazing 101 Dalmatians wedding in the 1996 live action
film, made by Walt Disney Pictures. This version focuses more on Anita and
Roger’s wedding, rather than Pongo and Perdy. No talking dogs/animals, so the
original 1961 wedding remains the best.
9:- Tangled Ever After, 2012,
Walt Disney Animation Studios
This short animation film, which focuses on the Royal
wedding between Rapunzel and Flinn Ryder. If it wasn’t for youtube.com I would
never had known this existed, Rapunzel looks like she is wearing the same dress
only in a different colour, so from purple to white! Flinn looks the best! But
it does it for him.
8:- Robin Hood, 1973, Walt
Disney Productions
This is the future hubby’s favourite film, so when I even
say the title all I can do is try get the song “oh de la le” out of my head!
Robin Hood and Maid Marian, they are cute and both foxes so at least it isn’t
going against natures law.
7:- Aladdin and the King of
Thieves, 1966, Walt Disney Television Animation
This is a straight to video release used to be one of my favourites,
it’s finally Jasmine and Aladdin’s wedding, but his father ruins the day and it
turns out he is the King of Thieves. Some pretty catchy tunes too. Plus Disney
was at its height for merchandise you could by the dolls in their wedding gear.
6:- Enchanted, 2007, Walt
Disney Productions
Prince Edward, the lucky handsome devil has two weddings
in this film, but only one of the brides makes it down the aisle. So it was his
wedding to Nancy Tremaine that makes it at number six. In this film they
girlfriend swop, with Idina Menzel looking amazing as a cartoon version, we’ll
have to wait for Enchanted 2 to see their happily ever after. Disappointed she
didn’t sing in this movie!
5:- Little Mermaid, 1989, Walt Disney Pictures
Prince Edward is not the only lucky man to appear twice
on this list, but so does his buddy Prince Eric. Well I’ve got to give it to
Ursula/ Vanessa credit her wedding was beautiful before it got crashed! Let’s
face it Ursula is a bad ass villain, she almost steals the film!
4:- Cinderella, 1950, Walt Disney Productions
After all of Cinderella’s hardship she got the guy. She
married Prince Charming! It’s grand, she follows Royal Protocol and her
shoulders are covered. She has birds holding her veil, but come on cinders
losing your shoe again! But lucky for us Walt Disney Pictures are giving it
another go in live action next year with Lily James (Lady Rose, Downton Abbey)
and Richard Madden (Rob Stark, Game of Thrones) *sigh* I have low hopes with
these two but we’ll see!
3:- The Princess and the Frog 2007, Walt Disney Animation
Studios
For some brides with plenty of money Tiana’s wedding is
an ideal goal, three wedding dresses! But bless Disney for somehow sneaking in
a full on puffy Disney princess dress in a film set in the 1920’s! The princess
who gets her dream of running a cafe, while being Royal that is some laid back
King and Queen. Dreams do come true in New Orleans.
2:- Enchanted, 2007, Walt Disney Productions
Prince Edward and Giselle, they been dreaming of a true
loves kiss, they were made to finish each other duets, well until the Evil
Queen send Giselle to New York and she meets Robert and their first song meant
nothing! But at least they both looked fabulous! Gypsy girls dream come true
too!
1:- Little Mermaid, 1989, Walt Disney Pictures
Of course Ariel and Prince Eric’s wedding is the best! No
discussion! Not explaining either!
Did you agree? Did you disagree? Did I forget a Disney
wedding? Let me know!

V&A Wedding Dress Exhibition 1775-2014 Review
Hello Everyone,
I went with two friends in May to see this exhibition, I was so excited the moment I heard about it, I wanted to attend, dates were arranged immediately so with this review I will be honest!
Recently I've been let down a lot by museums, just because you throw money at it doesn't mean it makes it better, for example Kenisington Palace. I'm really hoping the Imperial War Museum London does not let me down either. So here we go, the museum statement for the exhibition is:-
Myself I do not feel this is the case for this exhibition. The exhibition is on two floors, the bottom being based on how tradition of wedding dresses started. With the first dress you see being from 1775, the bottom floor discusses in detail, with plenty of detail on the weddings, I particularly liked the detail for the 1933 wedding dress worn by socialite Margaret Campbell, Duchess of Argyll, as well as having her unique wedding dress, you get to see newspaper clippings as well as the news reel footage of her leaving the church.
There is also video footage of all the Royal Weddings that were captured, which is a nice sit down and watch what is interesting is you see clips of Lady Dianna Spencer's wedding to Prince Charles but no footage of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall to Prince Charles, which to me is a huge faux pas, considering her wedding dress is on display in the upstairs section!
Right next to the film footage there is a small section of shoes and accessories on display, but you can easily miss them if your not looking.
Upstairs is more of a based on the Haute Couture wedding dresses. Which yes is nice and important, while being fascinating. There are also some celebrity wedding dresses and socialites on display, which makes you feel they clearly had far to much money, but taste is so individual, but what I felt through the upstairs sections is a real lack of connection!
While I do love looking at clothing and appreciating their design, I just feel like questioning the lack of personality in the upstairs, I love my wedding dress and I can tell you why I chose it, how it makes me feel, on top of the memory the first time my mum saw it. I would have liked to see more of that!
It is a nice display lay out, some beautiful dresses, but what surprised me the most is that all these dresses are designer dresses, but not one designer has sponsored this exhibition, it's sponsored by Kuoni, Monsoon and Waterford. Where is Vera Wang? Ian Stuart? I also would have secretly liked to see a Gypsy wedding dress, simple because now a days they are everywhere!
The exhibition does come with a book, which you can buy for £30.00, but I did not buy it because I guess I didn't not really care for the exhibition.
My thoughts are it is a nice exhibition, but it's not something I would shout to all my friends to see. I guess you could say the V&A Hollywood exhibition has spotlit me!
Hope You Enjoyed The Read!

TV Wedding vs TV Wedding
Hello Everyone,
There are so many to choose from, so here is a selection of a few (there are loads) and to mix it up they are going up against each other. So this is how I am going to score them, the Wedding Dress a score out of 10, the marriage not ending in divorce 1, the marriage lasting way into Ever After a 2 and 3 points for something dramatic happening which either ruined or interrupted the wedding day!
So in alphabetical order let's begin:-
Charmed
Written by Constance M. Burge, produced by Aaron Spelling about the Halliwell sister that ran from 1998 until 2006, aired on Sky Living. Only three of the four sisters were married, because quite frankly Prue (Shannen Doherty) was annoying the best thing they did was write her out and bring in the missing sister Pagie Matthews (Rose McGowen).
Piper Halliwell and Leo.
Played by Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause.
Phoebe Halliwell and Cole Turner
Phoebe Halliwell and Coop
Played by Alyssa Milano (again) and Victor Webster.
She marrieds a Cupid, sent to her by the Elders for her to believe in love again after surviving the darkest love that can exist. Season Eight, Episode Twenty Two "Forever Charmed".
Paige Matthews and Henry Mitchell
Played by Rose McGowan and Ivan Sergel
The only sister to have a normal relationship way to go Paige!. Season Eight, Episode Sixteen "Engaged and Confused" aired 26th February 2006.
Desperate Housewives
Created by Marc Cherry about an American Town called Wisteria Lane, a street in which everything that could happen, happened! It ran from 2004 until 2012, on Channel 4.
Bree van de Kamp and Orson Hodge.
Played by Marica Cross and Kyle Machachlan.
They get married after a six month relationship, but did he kill his first wife dum dum dummmmm. Season Three, Episode Two "It Takes Two".
Susan Mayer and Mike Delfino.
Played by Teri Hatcher and James Denton.
We watched this blooming relationship from the start, we felt their heartbreak when Mike left Susan and son MJ (Mason Vale) but we keep hoping until the end. Their first wedding that I'm scoring appeared Season Three, Episode Twenty Two "Getting Married Today".They have a second wedding after learning who Mike's bride is on Season Six, Episode One "Nice is Different Than Good".
Renee Perry and Ben Faulkner
Played by Vanessa Williams and Charles Mesure.
To be honest I don't remember much about them, as I never really cared for this character. I think they married for money? Season Eight, Episode Twenty Three "Finishing the Hat".
These two were so cute, he was the much older man, which caused problems for the family but we believed in them. Season Three, Episode Three.
Lady Mary Crawley and Matthew Crawley
Played by Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens.
It took two seasons for this to happen and two Christmas Specials. Through their marriage she secured the future of Downton and the families but this was a love match. Their marriage appears before Edith's (poor Edith, didn't even get her own Season) Season Three, Episode One.
Friends
Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which was a huge sitcom from 1994 until 2004, airing on Channel 4.Were all still waiting for the Movie!
Rachel Green and Ross Geller.
Played by Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer.
Will they, won't they will the, "We were on a break", won't they, "I got off the plane". During the entire ten season we watched this relationship, which resulted in a baby and a few other drama's! While were all waiting for their real wedding, which I imagine would be uber chic and in a museum, well they got married in, Season Five, Episode Twenty Four, "The One in Vegas Part 2".
Emily Waltham and Ross Geller.
Played by Emily Baxendale and David Schwimmer.
After a whirlwind relationship they get married in London. With a wonderful cameo of many British actors, my favorite Jennifer Saunder, but this wedding was all set up to be romantic, but Rachel Green decides she needs to be there and leaves a heavily pregnant Phoebe. Season Four, Episode Twenty Three, "The One with Ross's Wedding Part 1".
Monica is a bride after my own heart, she can plan my wedding and house any day. After they hook up in London, we were all shocked that they turn out to be the perfect couple and I appreciate how they showed their struggle to have children, yet it made them stronger. Season Seven, Episode Twenty Three, "The One with Monica and Chandler's Wedding Part 1".
Phoebe Buffay and Mike Hannigan.
Played by Lisa Kudrow and Paul Rudd.
Aww hippy Phoebe got married in a very chic traditional way. Season Ten, Episode Twelve "The One With Phoebe's Wedding"..
Game of Thrones
Created by David Benioff and D.B Weiss, I don't know how to describe this programme, just watch it! First aired 2011 and still leading up to something big, on Sky Altantic.
Roslin Fey and Edmure Tully.
Played by Alexandra Dowling and Tobias Menzies.
Dubbed "The Red Wedding" a lot went down on this wedding day, due to Walder Fey! But this was an arranged marriage due to Rob Stark doing his own thing and frankly pissing Walder off, so like everything in GoT, nothing is straight forward. . Season Three, Episode Nine, "The Rains of Castamere".
Margarey Tyrell and King Joffrey Baratheon.
Played by Natalie Dormer and Jack Gleeson.
Dubbed "The Purple Wedding", well we waited a fair few episode's for this one, King Joffrey being a tyrant and bastard, it is the number one point bad things come from incest. We all know Margarey's family were planning the outcome. Season Four, Episode Two, "The Lion and the Rose".
Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister.
Played by Sophie Turner and Peter Dinklage.
Who doesn't like to be forced into a marriage right? I actually think Tyrion is a good husband, he protects her and doesn't even enforce sex until she is ready, doesn't even sleep in the same bed. Season Three, Episode Eight, "Second Sons".
Princess Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo.
Played by Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa.
The first wedding of GoT, which we all felt sorry for poor Daenerys being forced into this marriage to a man she can't communicate with but it is a married I loved, they really loved each other, I was devastated when he died.. Season One, Episode One "Winter is Coming".
Gossip Girl
Created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, that ran from 2007 to 2012, on ITV2, it followed the lives of the teenagers of Upper East Side, while Gossip Girl aired all their dirty secrets.
Blair Waldorf and Prince Louis Grimalidi.
Played by Leighton Meester and Hugo Becker.
So the Queen Bee met a Prince in Paris and became Her Serene Highness, Princess Blair of Monaco (like they'd allow this marriage), did I mention she's was pregnant too, before she lost the child it was a question was it Louis or Chuck's? A love triangle in which she is very much still in love with. Season Five, Episode Thirteen, "G.G".
Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass.
Played by Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick.
Well after six season, they realize they were meant to be! Season Six, Episode Ten, "New York, I Love You XOXO".
Serena van der Woodsen and Dan Humphrey.
Played by Blake Lively and Penn Badgley.
What a final episode not only did Blair and Chuck get married but these two too! Who saw that coming? Well it also exposed that Lonely boy was Gossip Girl and yet Serena still marries him? Season Six, Episode Ten, "New York, I Love You XOXO".
How I Met Your Mother
Created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, airing from 2005 to 2014. All I'm saying is nine, I mean nine season to find out the mother? It did drag a little! But we got to see the lead characters to marry first. Airing on E4. (I might have watched this online so Spoilers.)
Lily Aldrin and Marshall Eriksen.
Played by Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segal.
Aww Marsh-mellow and Lily Pad, these two are perfect for each other, they met at college and keep the entire thing going by growing up! Season Two, Episode Twenty One, "Something Borrowed".
Robin Scherbatsky and Barney Stinson.
Played by Cobie Smudlers and Neil Patrick Harris.
Now I was not a fan of Season Nine, but the entire run-up was for their wedding day, I'm amazed they made it down the aisle altogether! Season Nine, Episode Twenty Two, "The End of the Aisle".
Tracy McConnell and Ted Mosby.
Played by Cristen Milioti and Josh Radnor.
We wait nine season to see this and their relationship, it only lasted one episode! They really have should have shown more of their relationship but gah. I really hated season nine and the ending. Season Nine, Episode Twenty Four, "Last Forever Part 2".
Once Upon A Time
Created by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, starting in 2001 and still going, seadson five arghh can't wait. This is a Disney girl's dream, Disney for adults! It was on channel 5, but they are no longer airing it. Internet all the way
Cinderella/ Ashley Boyd and Prince Thomas/ Sean.
Played by Jessy Schram and Tim Phillips.
This version is based on the original folk tale not the Disney film, in which Cinderella makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin, as he kills her Fairy Godmother, in order to be with Prince Thomas. But while this is happening in the Enchanted Forest,in Storybrooke it's getting dark.Season One, Episode Four, "The Price of Gold".
Queen of Hearts/ Cora Hills and Prince Henry.
Played by Rose McGowan and Zak Santiago.
Cora is the ultimate Queen of Evil, who becomes the Queen of Hearts. But she is only able to marry Prince Henry due to the fact she can spin straw into gold, wonder which fairy tale character helped there..Season Two, Episode Sixteen, "The Miller's Daughter".
Snow White/ Mary Margaret Blanchard and Prince Charming/ David Nolan.
Played by real husband and wife team Ginnfer Goodwin and Josh Dallas.
It's all about these two and considering I dislike the Disney cartoon of Snow White, I love these two so so much and it all begins with their wedding .Season One, Episode One, "Pilot".
Evil Queen/ Regina Mills and King Leopold.
Played by Lana Parrilla and Richard Schiff..
This wedding is a set up by the original Evil Queen Cora, it's all set up and Leopold is only doing it for a Mother for Snow. Season One, Episode Eighteen, "The Stable Boy".

Wedding Dress:- 7/10,
It's beautiful but it is not Blair at all, also all future/Royals get married with their shoulders covered, so pretty dress but they should have followed the rules.

Wedding Dress:- 9/10,
it is beautiful, I love the detail on the top of the dress, but I believe this is the start of a Gypsy dress, but for a fairy tale it works..
